4C (Community Coordinated Child Care) – Young Star is the state’s quality rating and improvement system. Enrolled family and group child care centers are given a star rating, from one to five stars. Our Club provides the YoungStar Quality Improvement Award to the Dane County child care center that shows quality improvements in two or more of the required areas.
Agriculture and Conservation/Environment Awards – Each year, the Club presents either an Agriculture Award or a Conservation/Environment Award to an organization that has distinguished itself in its area.
Community Service Awards – Each year our Club presents three Community Service Awards in the amount of $2,500 to organizations that meet high standards of community service.
Community Leadership Grants – Each year our Club presents two Community Leadership grants in the amount of $2,500 to outstanding students.
Gustav Bohstedt Scholarship – This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student studying animal nutrition in either the Department of Animal Sciences or Department of Dairy Science at the OW-Madison.
Sasman Endowment in the Wisconsin FFA Foundation – Louis M. Sasman was the State Supervisor of Vocational Education from 1924 to 1960 and a member of our Club for more than 40 years. Members of our Club established a $1,000 scholarship in his honor to be given to an outstanding student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education with the goal to teach agriculture in a Wisconsin high school.
Sasman FFA Recognition Awards -Annually, the Club recognizes an outstanding student from each of the FFA Chapters at Dane County High Schools with a Louis M. Sasman Award. Mr. Sasman was the State Supervisor for Vocational Education for 36 years and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Madison.
Youth Services Scholarships – The Club provides four $2,000 annual scholarships to outstanding students.
